Barrow upon Soar Community Association

The draw for the Christmas raffle took place on 28th November, and the winner is Wendy Woodhouse. Congratulations Wendy.

The Co-op presented the library with a cheque for £3,474.69 on Saturday 24th November. The money is being used to upgrade all the lighting in the library to energy efficient LED technology. Thanks go to the Co-op Store for their Local Community Fund scheme, and to everyone who shops at the Co-op and who signed up to support the library.

The Co-op also presented cheques to Barrow Playgroup and Soar Valley Guides.

The Co-op will also be supporting the library in 2019 to install lighting in our car park. If you have not done so already, please sign up for Co-op membership and log-in to select the library as your preferred cause.

The winners of the Library Poetry Competition were announced on Saturday morning.

7-11 years age group:
Lilly Raynor age 10 Hall Orchard and
“The Bridge” written by Cole Garretty-Parker, Oliver Pacholec and Archie Wakelin.

All poems are on display at the library. Please come and read them.
